Orme-johnson Electrophysiological and Eeg Changes: High Eeg Coherence Events

Periods of overall high EEG coherence were found during the practice of the Transcendental Meditation technique. These periods of high coherence were correlated with the subjective experience of pure consciousness, the simplest state of awareness, during Transcendental Meditation. The author proposes that the state of pure consciousness corresponds to the ground state of central nervous system functioning.-EDITORS
